The Eastern Paranormal Research Society is much more than just a "ghost hunting" group. We are researchers with a deep desire to
understand our chosen field of study, as well as the world around us. With that in mind, we are always in the process of collecting data
and are engaged in several long-term research projects in various areas of the paranormal.
EVP
One of our biggest interests is EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) research. We are a leader among our peers in EVP experimentation.
Building upon the work of pioneers such as Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Friedrich Jürgenson, and Konstantin Raudive, and in an attempt
to further validate this phenomenon, we utilize equipment often discarded by many of our contemporaries. In addition to equipment such
as faraday cages and variations on Raudive diodes, we also utilize prototype devices of our own design. Some of our cutting edge
research involves utilizing active filter networks in order to isolate and record frequencies outside the human vocal range, including
fundamentals, harmonics, and subharmonics.
Environmental Conditions
Another area of interest, is the study of environmental conditions and their correlation with paranormal
phenomenon. We are attempting to either prove or disprove many of the theories out there on topics such as EMF
spikes, solar activity, barometric pressure changes, temperature changes, air ionization, and geological
formations. By collecting a number of environmental variables during an investigation, over time, we can identify
trends.
